Happy New Year!

Today is my birthday. In lovely Minnesota, the weather is a gray and rainy 46 degrees. Despite the blah mood outside, internally, I am happy, almost giddy. I've received numerous calls from family and friends wishing me well on this day along with an inbox full of links to animated and personalized birthday cards. My favorites, however, are by far the wishes containing a song. That is, the happy birthday song or some derivative. My morning started with the fiance singing to me and shaking his thang - pretty humorous at 7 am!! - and continued with a personalized greeting sung Robert Goulet-style while in line at Starbucks, two separate classic renditions, and one opera-from-hell duet. What fun to have others make fools of themselves for my entertainment. A fantastic way to start off my 31st!
